We have friends who have a daughter
Many years ago when she was young she couldn't say R
So she'd call me Odd....instead of Rod

It's stuck.....

My name's Michael Lindsay.

Somebody at my last job thought my surname sounded like Flimsy and found that hilarious.
From there, circles of friends intertwined with co-workers.. such was the beginning of my nickname.

The Flimbot derivative is what I use for accounts and used when I created this one in the long-long-ago.

Other than that: High school friends (and related) still call me Mik (for some reason I decided to omit the commonly used "c", as 4 letters is apparently too much) there's a Mickel which is used in select circles, thought that died long ago. Family calls me Mike, I've been called Dave more than once.

Robert (mostly called Rob) is my name.
I realised I've never posted on this thread before.
MM moniker came from a photo some years ago at a Vic club day at Heathcote Dragway. I was wearing my new long sleeved club white tee .....and you've guessed it looked like the Michelin Man (Bibendum) in a photo standing next to "Nessie"
Happy to say I'm 13.3 kgs lighter than back then....but who's counting.
When the stripes were added to the car to tie in the newly acquired red hardtop I had a couple of self deprecating, running Michelin Man stickers made up to go on the front guards (as it seemed to be a fashion in the club at that time with a batman logo, superman "s" and a transformer logo some that I can recall).
BTW the avatar I am using on th AudioeKarma home stereo audio forums and HotCopper Australian Sharemarket Forum both use Michelin Man too.
Kind regards,

Batdog = Clayton. Started as a joke with several of us all claiming we were Batdog (can't remember why we were doing it but we thought it was funny). Somehow the name stayed with me!

Where I work currently, I am nicknamed Rafiki - the wise, slightly strange, baboon from 'Lion King'. I can't decide whether I am insulted or complimented!

Cheers,
Batdog (the Bark Knight Rises)
