My post has been locked?

Postby killbill » Tue Nov 13, 2018 7:20 pm

Does anyone know why my previous post (http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=77296) has been locked?

You should send a PM to Okobi. You should also check first whether you already have a PM from him.

Yes I locked it.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Actually, it appears to have been completely deleted after being locked.

That's true. Why and how would someone do that? What's wrong with that post. Someone tell me.

Yeah, I'm a little unsure what was wrong with the thread. Seemed cordial enough. Though I think it reached it's conclusion, right? You're going to keep looking?

It's okibi's forum, so he can do what he likes. But it would seem to confirm that the Carsales.com seller is also a forumite, & took exception to the post. Caveat Emptor.

It reveals the carefully concealed history of a vehicle that somebody is trying to sell? Threats of legal action? Who knows..... :|

Maybe thread was getting a little too personal.
As said, thread had run its course.

But we're price bashing an ad OUTSIDE the forum.
Can't we have some fun, as some of the posts about blinking lights bore me to death (I like a bit of controversy).

That was price bashing? I think I said $10k for a car that doesn't fit your wants isn't a great idea, or something to that effect. $10k for a car that is what you're looking for would be fine, IMO, but this wasn't what the OP wanted.

I'm OK with threads being locked when necessary, and I accept this Okibi's sandpit that we're playing in, but I also appreciate a bit of transparency.

Bruce, you want some controversy: You'll never get your V8 MX-5, give it up! It's a stupid idea anyway, an LFX V6 is a much better fit with the chassis and is readily available in modern SV6 Commodores. (such a car just won Super Lap Battle in the US - their version of WTAC - beating GT3's, GTRs, EVOs, Corvettes and more)
