Educate me on NCs.

Postby Spac » Wed Jan 02, 2019 12:34 pm

I'm sure this has been answered a million times before, but it's beyond my skills with the search function.

1. Do NCs have noticeably more interior space than NAs & NBs?

2. Has anyone fitted a CAMS spec rollcage under a PRHT? I would be gutting the hardtop anyhow.

Thanks for any advice.

I can't speak for space in a stock set up road NC as my NC is a stripped out track version. But it feels a little more spacious than my NB.

It is certainly possible to fit a CAM certified rollbar with a soft top or fitted hardtop.
Brown Davis do a roll bar that fits that criteria.
NB8A| WP 1:15.6 | SMP-S 1:08.56 | SMP-N 1:21.35
NC1| WP 1:09.42 | SMP-S 1:03.191 | SMP-N 1:16.1856 | SMP-GP 1:48.288

Thanks! I committed to buying the car tonight - a new adventure begins.

Now to get the NA ready to sell.

This wouldn’t happen to be Kev’s Nardo NC?

Not sure if the brown Davis bar will fit under the PRHT though, you can always get something custom made up anyways.
MY07 NC, Mazdaspeed Body, Ohlins, Full GWR Exhaust, 17x9 RPF1's, 4.1FGR and lots lots more

That's the one.
If things go to plan, it will get a Lochleigh cage sometime later this year.

What's the plan Mr Spac? Circuit, rallycross, rallysprint?

Rowdy, primarily a track car, although El Wifeo wants to use it for the Rallycross Sprints too.
And I must admit, that after the highly scientific "donuts in the backyard" test, I think it will be a great khanacross car too...

It was cheap enough that we can make it up as we go along. :)

Me? Not last time i looked in the shed (10 minutes ago) the NB still lived though. .if i was splashing ND kinds of cash around, I'd save a little harder and buy an Elise or 987 Coxster or Cayman S... I had a drive of an ND though.....good but waaay too small inside, gearshift is fwd econobox levels of disconnected...

Not many ordered with a detachable hardtop.
Work just like the NA/NB.
High price due rarity (supply vs demand).

thanks JBT. something to consider when I eventually get tired of my NA and need an "upgrade" :)
