Sydney Motor Show - 2000 / 2001

Postby PB » Wed Sep 25, 2019 4:27 pm

Very random question...

Does anyone have - buried in the depths of their hard drives or photo albums, any pictures of the Mazda Stand at the 2000 or 2001 Motor Show (Sydney or possibly even Melbourne)

I'm trying to find an image of the MX5 which was on the turn style table on display in either of those years. I'm assuming 2000 is the year I am after as if i recall correctly the shows were on in October.

Trying to line up a claim regarding a certain vehicle NB8B

Cheers

I think your only hope would be car magazines from that era ie. Wheels (and then hope they took a picture of the NB).

Given that coincides with the release & first NB8B compliance plate date of Oct 2000, a MX5 Club magazine from around then might also have a pic.

Maybe ask Mazda Head Office to trawl thru their archives (if you give them good enough reason).
Beyond that, I think you are trying something impossible.

Yeah, ask to speak with their 'Heritage' specialist - they do have one.

Try https://en.wheelsage.org/mazda/miata/nb/mazda_mx-5_miata_1/pictures/

or

https://www.wheelsage.org/ng/category/australian-motorshow

I have a friend that works for Mazda in Japan (and owns a MX5) who maybe able to see what they have from around that time, no guarantees.

Thanks to all who have responded. I'll follow the various sources provided. Magpie - I'll reach out separately.

Morlock - good to see you are still as helpful as I recall you being on this forum. I guess you're consistent at least!
