Why not. Some guys in the States did a Hellcat engine conversion (butcher job on Youtube).

You're just not being ambitious enough. Volvo tank engine in a Volvo PV544.

Agreed, this is much more ambitious. I like that the engine and car are both Volvo.

The rear looks so much like a VW bug.

I have to say that the nice thing about the Gallardo swap is that the two giant induction chambers and their throttle bodies would probably sit proud of the bonnet. You would have the opportunity to run two giant cold air air intake pipes over the rear of the bonnet and into the HVAC collector chamber. The induction noise would be mind boggling.

And the gearbox would be ahead of your front bumper!
Actually no - the gearbox in a Lambo is on the other end. I have confuzzled myself.

Think the Gumout 86 with the Ferrari v8 mounted upfront.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Bit extreme!

949 (or another of the Murican MX5 tuners) had a Ferrari V8 to go in the front, but I think that project was shelved. There was something about it on MT.net a year or two ago.

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

That old chestnut. There was no further info beyond that and a few pics in Fast Fours. Probably didn't get finished and scrapped.
