Vicroads advised ABMARC were possibly doing IM240 testing 20-21 April 2022 - not sure if this occurred, but latest is IM240 testing still extremely difficult to get done in Victoria.

IM240 VEHICLE EMISSION TESTING UPDATE!!!
S&M Engineering is excited to announce the following changes to the emissions testing requirements for light vehicles and VASS certification requirements.
What’s changing?
Authorised vehicle inspectors (VASS signatories) may refer to emissions results from RG240 tests in lieu of emissions results from IM240 tests.
These results may only be obtained from a provider as identified by the Department of Transport.
Who is identified by the department of Transport to conduct the RG240 test?
After rigorous testing and Audit - S&M Engineering has been identified as a compliant RG240 test provider – we are able to test your vehicle in-house using our internally owned and operated test facility.

Vic IM240 -> RG240 testing

Indeed, we can only dream of those VIPAC days - that said the RG240 test (now adopted by Victoria) only costs $175 in Adelaide. Yes $1650 in Vic v $175 in SA - perhaps this pic might make us feel better about things:

It would be worth driving to SA for the test.

Assuming Vicroads deem, & then continue to deem, the four South Australian RG240 testers as approved providers. Vicroads don't deem Melbourne Performance Centre in Croydon (Vic) an approved provider, & Melbourne Performance Centre have the same dyno as S&M Engineering (Mainline) & charge $175 per hour for dyno use.
