Those with long memories will remember Slammer and 'Scooter'.

Came across this MT.net thread the other day, and it looks a bit like it is going down the same path Slammer took his.

Scooter - A Miata Journey and ITB Noises

Slammer=forumite & Scooter=modified red NA6 now possibly in Qld - turbo'd white NA6 in NSW was Gurglr. Someone posted about Slammer quite a while back but can't seem to find it.

Yes, I think a lot of that was lost in the Great Crash of the Oughties. I found the remnants of a thread but there should be a helluva lot more.

In particular there should be one about his death in the late Oughties. I suspect they were all casualties of the Crash.

Slammer was a worthy inheritor of Gurglr, a big contributor to this board.

RIP Slammer.

I remember all those names (just a bit hazy now).
I particularly remember GURGLR (youtube video of the car) as I picked up some wheels for him which he purchased in Melbourne. They were located 200 metres from my home.

I'd heard he'd had a stroke I think it was and was hospitalised, sorry to hear he's passed on!

My memory is that it was heart, but at this point cause not really relevant. He and RussellB were medical causes, another whose name I have sadly forgotten was a road accident in an MX5.

PS What gives, views now over 560!

It's the only topic with any action on here the last couple of days, so people come to read. I didn't know Slammer or Scooter, so nothing to really add unfortunately.

Did anyone drive their cars this weekend? Last month?

Sounds like Sasso in NSW back in 2010. Another medical was Uncle Arthur in Qld a while back.

Yes, I remember Sasso. It was covered on the news.
Uncle Arthur is gone? I didn't know that but I guess it has been decades since I've seen him post.
