Vinyl wrapping Hardtop

Postby wasp47 » Mon May 22, 2017 10:12 am

Hi
Has anyone had their Hardtop Vinyl wrapped, if so, did you have any problems, are you happy with the result and what was the cost. One company quoted $450, another said it was a very difficult $1200 :?
Cheers

I will be getting my hardtop vinyl wrapped shortly. I have had a number of my cars wrapped and very happy with the outcome. You must however expect that a wrap isn't as durable as a good paint job.

A hardtop is not a hard item to wrap.

$1200 is a ridiculous quote - probably reasonable to assume they were not really interested. $450 is still more than I would pay but getting closer to what you should expect to pay.

Had the hardtop vinyl wrapped in carbon fibre by a local company LOYALTY Window Tinting, looks brilliant. Didn't have to remove the window rubber. The hard top was silver and not a speck of silver can be seen. Painting is yesterdays technology.

Great to hear and agree a good wrap comes up a treat. Paint still has its place though:).

Steven, just out of curiosity, did you happen to get a quote to paint the hardtop?

I got mine painted for less than what you've been quoted to wrap. It was a cheaper spray job but its still very decent and its going on 4 years old.

A good paint job $600 + plus the cost of the window trim.

even at $600 to paint a hardtop that sounds $500 too much  only my opinion but I bet you can do a fair job with a spray can. if not a $200 compressor would do it for sure
