These were originally made for the Miata and I love mine so much I put one in my SP23.
In a convertible during summer with top left down they do get burning hot but you get used to that (or remember to cover the knob when you leave the car).
Always reminds me of the opening credits of the old Kung-Fu TV series wheer David Carradine picks up the red-hot cauldron with his forearms to get his tiger/dragon burns (see 12-17 second mark):
