Tyre sizes NC1 17"

Postby madmort » Sun Jan 03, 2021 6:41 pm

I would like to ask those that know and are driving NC1s' what tyre sizes are you using. I'm informed 205/45 R17 are factory size for stock wheels.
But 215/45 R17 are cheaper to purchase, are the 225/45 R17 a better option for only a few dollars more or are they overkill.
Which are the best option and what are you using please?
Cheers

I am using 215/45, they seem to be a much more popular size and cheaper than the factory 205s. The speedo also is more accurate with this size.

Thanks for that kishigae I was hoping someone could confirm 215s, 225s seem over the top.
Thanks again

I can second kishagae's recommendation of 215s as I bought 4 last August & they seem a good size for the NC1.

Check with your tyre people but I seem to recall that 215/ 45 is the legal limit.

That was my advice from two "reputable" tyre people that the 215/45 is within he Vic limit for rolling circumference.

I think the rim/tyre width is the legality u refer to.

G'day Madmort,
I have 215/45/17 AD08s on my NC3.
Speedo is 100% at 60 & 110 km/h.
I am not aware of over dia being a roadworthy issue in VIC, but wheels wider than +1" of stock 7" is technically not roadworthy according to VICROADS.
