17” tyre options

Postby chrismacca » Fri Apr 15, 2022 4:37 pm

Hi all,
I’m in the market for a set of tyres for my NC with the BBS wheel option. Car is my daily driver with occasional spirited use and the odd blast into the hills.
Considering Bridgestone RE003s and have just seen an offer at Jax Tyres for a good discount on Pirellis.
Wondering if any feedback from members on these or other similar tyre choices? Budget under $1000 all up with w/a if possible.
Thanks in advance and Happy Easter to all!
Cheers

Got Bridgestone RE003 fitted all around on my NA8 last year when there was a 4 for 3 offer at Bob Jane - very happy with them - I'd choose them over a low end Pirelli any day.

Had Michelin Pilot Preceda 3 on immediately prior to the current RE003, & the Michelin's were very good. Always had Bridgestones on my various MX5 prior to that, but the Michelin's were easily as good.

Thanks for your comments, I agree it will be between RE003s or possibly PS4s depending on what deal is around at the time. Cheers!

Don't know if you bought anything yet but if you want to save big money on a NC buy 215/45/17 tyres.
That size is considerably cheaper than the factory 205/45/17 size.

Even Michelin Pilot Sport 5 (that is no typo the 5 is out) is only $241 a tyre at full price in 215's from Bob Jane.
RE003's are only $185 and remember they do 4 for 3 offers on these regularly so that would only be $555 for a full set.

I have Pirelli PZero on my Pug 207 at the moment. Thy are good but in the end of the day the PS4 or PS5 can be had cheaper and is better according to pretty much every tyre review out there.
