supplier rear CV joints

Postby GR124 » Fri Apr 28, 2023 2:46 pm

Hi people.
I want to replace the rear outer CV joints, NB8A year 2000, from the bit of searching I've done the CV is supplied with the axle shaft. Is this true?
I would like to buy the outer CVs only?

before you say just buy the complete unit with inner and outer CV on the axle. I don't want the inner, as these are subaru CVs. Don't ask :D

You might get some luck at a driveline specialist, as they might be able to either identify the joint & be able to cross reference the individual joint through a catalogue.

I know as a BMW/VW tech at the dealership I used to replace just the joint & boot itself in most cases.

Desperate Situations Call for Desperate Measures Department:

Back in the day, when front wheel drive was still getting sorted, the backyard tip was to reverse the shafts, so that the drive was acting on the opposite side of the housing (ie the relatively unworn side). 8)

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)
