Yellow speed vs MCA coilovers

Postby wasp47 » Fri Dec 22, 2023 12:41 pm

Greetings
I have a 2006 NC and I am going to fit coilovers.
My options are Yellowspeed, cheaper, or MCA.
I am interested in opinions from people who have had some experience with both brands and coilovers in general. :?

Cheers
Steven

Experience with a fair range of coilovers, but neither of those. I would lean to MCA on principle, but that's just me.

What usage, that will make a difference?

Best suggestion I can make is to talk to the resellers/agents/whatever about your usage and requirements. Get some recommendations from them about the sort of valving and springing they can offer for your needs. From previous visits to their website I suspect MCA have more capability/interest in a package that meet your needs, but happy to be surprised.

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

My MCA Reds are excellent, but so they should be for the price. Very little roll, compliant enough over speed bumps and rough road, fantastic response. I am yet to track them but I reckon they'll be great.

MCA recommend standard anti-roll bars with their setups, which was a pain for me as I had to remove my RB bars and source and install original equipment. That pain was worth it in hindsight. I actually ignored their advice regarding standard rear anti-roll bar and went with no bar at all, but I have the smallest standard bar in place if I choose to experiment. I chose a 75/25 track/street setup.
