We were either thinking a border run OR a run through the Mountains and up to Toowoomba.

Long night drive if going through Toowoomba.
Sorry I couldn't stay for coffee on Friday night, wasn't feeling well after the drive.

So I did the run, the return is great but the way from Numinbah to Murwullimbah is terrible, laneless roads that are undulated and fall off to the sides, twistys with sharp crests in the centre etc. It's a great drive during the day and has good scenery but at night would be dangerous at best.

I'm looking at doing something similar. Rather than finishing the run at Currumbin Valley, I was contemplating driving to Chinderah Tavern for lunch to top off the drive. Hopefully the bad weather is behind us for the remainder of the year and I won't be forced to make another cancellation.

Hello all from Newie to Brisvegas (and further afield if you're really keen)

I have revived an old post as I think it would apply.

During my motorcycle days, we would do an annual weekend event to the Coaching Station in Nymboida (between Grafton and Coffs). We would assemble in Nymboida on the Friday a/noon-evening, do a lap around some of the best driving roads with breathtaking views on the Saturday, and take in the local attractions before a leisurely run home on Sunday.
The Coaching Station was a fabulous place to stay. Right on the river where you can go whitewater rafting. It also had a small memorabilia museum, and Dorrigo wasn't far if you are into the market scene.
Now that you're all excited, the bad news is that the Coaching Station is no longer.

My invitation is two-fold;
1. Who would be keen for this type of frivolity?
2. Who knows of a venue which can offer us a similar range of entertaining options?

I look forward to hearing from you all and putting together this weekend of fun and friendship.

Greg

Would be interested. Ive ridden those roads on my motorbike as well. It was heavenly.

Biggest pain is the stupidly boring stretch of road to Grafton...

For me, I'd be going via Kyogle and the Summerland way. Makes the trip South a little more interesting.
:D
Saturday's run would be most of the fun.
Would be nice to have you with us on a drive again.

With all the current roadworks on the Pacific Highway, Ballina to Woolgoolga, I also recommend travelling via the Summerland Way.
