Immobilizer issues not allowing car to start.

Postby turntaker » Mon Feb 06, 2017 11:05 pm

I bought my mx5 (NB) about 3 weeks ago and this is now the third time my car won't start randomly. Each time the problem was resolved by waiting and trying again.

I am certain that it's an immobilizer issue as when I try to start it the red car/key light stays on. But I could be wrong since sometimes it doesn't come on.

There has been an alarm.installed by the previous owner which is now broken, could this be causing these issues?

Any help will be appreciated.

Edit:
Video of car not starting. (This time light comes on)

Could it be a coil pack issue?
