I think you'll find that the SE already has central locking..... :?

I thought it did as well. The key fob has Lock, Unlock and Boot buttons.
However, pressing the button Lock only flashes the parkers once. Pressing the Unlock flashes the parkers twice. But the doors neither lock or unlock. Nothing happens when the Boot button is pressed.

I can't check it now. Fuse maybe? or faulty actuators on all 3 doors? Something else?

Have you tried a new battery in the fob?

Found the culprit.
I removed the 10A mini fuse which looked at first to be OK. Under a good magnifying glass, I could just see a crack in the fuse wire but not by eye. Multimeter says it's no good.

I replaced the 10amp fuse. Boot opens. Door shut button - doors click and lights flash once, but door still open. Lock manually from inside, Door open button, doors click and lights flash twice, but doors won't open. Both doors the same.

Are both door actuators dead? or is there something else?

both could be stuffed, or in need of adjusting.

The only way to confirm is to remove the door card and run through the remote button test again while watching the actuator.

You should also see the inside door lock move when the actuator locks or unlocks each door.

If the actuator rods moves then the actuator may be OK, just needs the rod adjusted to ensure that the actual locking mechanism is moving far enough to work.

This may help you as well. ==> https://www.miata.net/garage/pwrlock.htm

Just been away with a passenger ... and discovered that my passenger door is not locking on the remote   . How long has this been so? No idea is the answer, passenger accidently operated exterior handle before I pressed button, I noticed and asked WTF happened there?

Long story short, tomorrow the door card comes off and we'll see ... I can feel the actuator moving, so hopefully it is the adjustment only. Found this ten minutes before the other door busted its window cable ... :x so both doors getting a dose of TLC.
