It's within the realms of possibility that it could end up somewhere in the vicinity of that area in the engine bay.....

Oh dear, over 4 months since I posted about that thing......
I wonder where I put it anyway? I'm sure I bought it for a reason..... would be shame to have lost it somewhere.

Anyway, where are we up to?
- First holidays in over 12 months (I think the first week was spent mainly asleep)...... CHECK!
- Rego inspection done (errrr, 3270km in a year? That can't be right, can it?)...... CHECK!
- Minor service complete....... CHECK!
- A few small repairs done (it's amazing how versatile super glue is)....... CHECK!
- Actually go for a drive somewhere....... Ummmm...... Working on that one...... :|

Of interest, one of the thing I did was change out the 10K km old Synthetic Valvoline transmission fluid for some Redline MT90 and Nulon Smooth Shift transmission treatment.
Wow, what a difference that makes! Even on a relatively short shakedown drive after the service it was like Night and Day.
If you haven't already put the Redline in your 6-speed, do it!*
* not sure if it is the Redline per-se or going from a GL5 to a GL4 fluid but something certainly has changed for the better.

So I've still got another week and a bit of holidays to go I wonder what else I can get up to?
I know, I could always start doing some work on the mumble mutter mutter thingy........

Hmm might have to try that Nulon smooth shift stuff.

I already have redline in my transmission and the gear movement is fine, but compared to the sister in laws SE it feels quite stiff. Both SE's, both with same Short shifter kits. (could also be the difference between 100,000ks).

Yeah, I bet you got it at the same place I did.

Now I need to work out what to do with the 2.5L bottle of 75W-90 GL5 synthetic fluid sitting on the bench.......

Funny that :D

Did you drop the quantity of redline by the amount of smooth shift you put in? I guess having too much oil is better than too little I suppose.

Strangely enough one tube of smooth shift plus two quarts of Redline was almost exactly how much it took to fill the gearbox.

I was actually getting a bit worried I was going to run out of MT90 for a bit there! :?
Probably only had ~20mL overflow out the filler plug......
