Exactly what I found! With white BC P1 Racing wheels, I had to use a hard plastic scraper & cutting compound, but never got them totally clean.
Carbotech XP10 are great, but expensive.

Where do you get the Carbotechs from?

So I still have no rotors. It’s been almost 6 weeks since I ordered them and I’ve been told several times they were arriving on a certain day only for nothing to show up. With practice on Friday they have to arrive tomorrow or I’m stuffed.
Regardless of the outcome and several other dealings, I’ll never touch DBA or Brakes Direct again.

Interesting that the DBA T3 rotors are the same thickness as the OEM ones with 10,000km’s and 6 track days on them.
For weight weenies the OEM’s weighed 13.5lb’s each and the DBA’s are 12.8lbs.

T3’s will last the same as OEM rotors and do not have any special cooling abilities...

Looks like the T3’s aren’t worth the extra over oem discs

Time for a BBK? Not necessarily for a larger diameter rotor, but for the weight savings from aluminium hats and calipers, some of which can be sacrificed for thicker rotors.

Yes worth it for weight savings only. Won’t bother on this car though as there’s no point chasing grams as I think this car’s time is coming to an end!

Had a mixed time at the Lakeside Tribute meeting this weekend.
The point of it all for me was to see if I was still interested in circuit racing and hence wether I’d build a dedicated track car. The Tart is really a bit too compromised as a daily now and it was such a sweet road car.
On the plus side I definitely enjoyed the whole event but on the downside I over revved the engine and spun the crank bolt on the last lap of qualifying.
By the time I’d organised a trailer and got the car home it was too late to fix before the next day’s racing so I took my little boy back on Sunday and we had a great day spectating.
After watching some pretty ordinary driving over the weekend I was convinced I need a full cage and I’m now hatching a plan....
On the flip side there was some exceptional driving, particularly MX5’s of Tim and Shane. I mean, seriously, an NA that’s as fast as a well dríven Porsche GT3 Cup car for gods sake!!! Hugely impressive. As was Shane’s NA in a class of its own with metronomic consistency.
So I’ve been busy in the shed clearing space to strip the Tart of her racing goodies and return her to stock (and sale) and then I’ll be saving my pennies for a track build.
Sorry to bring the dreaded Coronavirus topic up but it was interesting to have doctor from QLD health spend 10 mins on the topic at the drivers briefing, she was taking it very seriously.
