This is exactly as the crease appears to me?
And on this car.

i see what Dann is saying, the airflow out the bonnet is definitely not as smooth as the ferrari's.

Perhaps.
That is a low pressure area, right? Further back you go, the higher the pressure, no? (at least for NA/B)
I would be interested in the pressure differential between the duct pressure, and the over-bonnet pressure, that would be the key to knowing why it works/not works. Any overheating issues Danny?
I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

I'm sure it could be a bit smoother if Danny had the same budget as the Ferrari, and also didn't have an engine in the front!!

Still might have been cheaper to buy a second hand Ferrari No fun in that though

Re: NC 20BPP Time Attack / Track Car - Build Thread
Time is flying by as it's less than 6 months until WTAC 2015!
The good news is that everything is progressing along nicely.
As previously mentioned, the aero package as designed by AMB Aero wasn't able to be fully executed in time for WTAC 2104. However, the past 4 months has seen the moulds for the outstanding items - front splitter, front nose cone, hard top, rear diffuser, rear wing end plates and rear duck-tail are all but completed. With everything going to plan, the composite components from these moulds will be manufactured over the next 2-3 months. This will allow the suspension set-up to be completed and track tuned.
A couple of smaller items have been ticked off the list over the last couple of months....
....with a much needed heel rest added....
....and the cable and lever for the adjustable front ARB installed.
I was able to get some more seat time at a QR morning session a week back so that my tuner could make some tune adjustments from the Motec data. This really tidied up the rest of the ECU mapping (other than WOT) and also pushed the peak power over 340rwkW (456rwhp) @ 9,800 rpm when we put it back on the hub dyno. This increase is also due to the engine seals bedding in.
In the 3rd and final session of the morning I didn't have to focus on anything other than just driving. This session saw the car crack into the 58's on the Clubman Circuit for the first time. What's really exciting about this is that the driver didn't have to do anything special! The Motec data confirmed this as the corner speeds were no faster than my little blue NA8, and as you can see in the below video I was braking way early. So I'm quietly confident that the lap times will drop further without too much red mist action!
...and then this happened!
Cheers,
Danny

Re: NC 20BPP Time Attack / Track Car - Build Thread
Bought the latest Fast Fours & Rotaries magazine (MAY 2015) yesterday and decided to look at it as part of my morning bowel-cleansing ritual (ie. I read it on the dunny).
The magazine is also packaged with the PERFORMANCE garage.com.au magazine which had an eye-catching curvaceous damsel in the bottom right corner so naturally I checked that out first.
While flicking through the magazine to find "Rosanna Arkle", I flicked to a page with a very familiar looking bloke pictured very prominantly - our man, Danny Irvine!
There's a 10-page article featuring Danny and his car collection which makes a great read.
Why wasn't this in the Fast Fours & Rotaries magazine?
Also Danny, IMO, modelling is not your forte, where was "the smouldering look", the "draped all over the car" shot, the "come hither look", or any of the Zoolander poses:
Seriously though, it's a great article.

Danny have you sorted out the data logging yet?

I don't know Simon. Other than it may be fit the title of this other publication a little better.

Couldn't agree more. I was very happy with the article.
Magpie wrote:Danny have you sorted out the data logging yet?
Almost Mark. The data logging is about 95% sorted. Just the engine oil pressure and the fuel tank level channels are to be correctly calibrated. Will get this sorted before the next event.
Cheers,
Danny
