yea.....the first one took me ages. once you know the moves.....its a piece of cake.

I've never been able to lift the diff back into position by myself. I've always required extra help for that.

Sorry Wun, no photos.

I failed to mention that we did this on a hoist. And due to that fact, the difficulty ratings given by Uncle Arthur can be halved :)

3 people is a good number of people to do this within 2 hours.

Oh and another rating:
Potential of loss of hearing, due to excessive hammering of bolts, by a few decibels: 3/5 :|

BIG tip for those who are considering replacing a diff is to get the one that has the half-shaft/splines in it.

This way, you only need to undo the 4 bolts connecting the transaxles (is that what they're called?) to the spline and diff. Otherwise you need to stuff around with pulling the transaxle out of the diff housing and realigning the teeth when reinstalling the transaxle again.

It'll makes sense once you try it yourself.

difficulty level is 0/5 compared to striping the car. Never doing that again. I'm not very patient so that doesn't help. Sorry for the hijack Red but I think you know how i feel

I've never heard anyone say they would stripe a car again.
