I've never actually seen the place for real, this is from google maps.

It doesn't actually look likr that now, The Hamilton Hotel (building on the right of your piccy) is now a dirty great Dan Murphy's, still ample parking but. :)

I don't want to sound negative but remember that more than likely 794 other cars will probably have the same idea.
And some of them will need to use the Racecourse RD entrance just around the corner from dan murphy's

Option B for our small but quality group heading futher outbound (maybe 2 blocks) is an Ampol servo just before Nudgee Rd (Japanese car entry is from this road)

this is only an opinion so feedback good or bad welcomed...

Not being local to Brisbane, I wasn't aware of the multiple entrances to the racecourse when I suggested the Dan Murphy car park, as you say 794 others may be expecting to do the same thing!!!! Can you show me, on the map where the Ampol servo is? It sounds like a much better idea.

Hi Geoff it's just along the same road otherside of the traffic lights left hand side out bound just before the left hand turn into nudgee road..

I'll have to get put a pic up later...off to the salt mine...

I've had a virtual drive from Racecourse Road to Nudgee Street and that's the only servo, my sat nav says the same thing. I've also had a look at the Caltex website and it appears that Caltex and Ampol are the same thing. I'll wait for someone local to make a comment.

Dear All

Wet weather has forced the cancellation of RACQ's premier community event, MotorFest 2009, which was to be held at Eagle Farm Racecourse on Sunday June 28.

Because of the complexity of the event, which showcases more than 800 veteran, vintage and unique vehicles, it will not be rescheduled for 2009. However, MotorFest will be held again in 2010.

RACQ apologises for any inconvenience that cancellation of the event may have caused, and advises that entrants and traders who have paid exhibition fees will receive a full refund. All exhibitors and traders will be contacted as soon as possible.

Regards
