bits-to-fix-&-upgrade day. Brissie south, sat 24th Nov

Postby Steampunk » Wed Nov 21, 2007 9:47 am

My friend and I are doing the following:
- brake & clutch fluid replacement
- rear brake adjustment/tightening
- maybe a clutch slave cylinder rebuild

It's at Logan, mid morning around 10ish

This is not a \"formal\" Dodgy Day, so no drinks or nibbles organised, it's just for anyone who wants to see how things are done.....
and how a car is supposed to be jacked-up and placed on stands PROPERLY ... not naming any names .... gimme a \"b\", gimme an \"o\", gimme an \"a\", gimme a \"g\" ...... ?

PM me if interested.

AAhh! yes yes, well done Dr. Watson.

Thanks to lowmiata for shedding light on how to do it "properly" ....
and when I say "properly" I mean doing it slightly LESS dodgy, cause if it were done the correct way, then it just wouldn't be living up to the spirit of dodgy day now would it? :D

As with going deep sea fishing, on behalf of everyone else .... BASTARD 8)

I'm sorry - you can't call it a dodgy day if it doesn't have the trappings of a dodgy day. (Read my sig block if you doubt me :D).

You'll have to call it a workshop day 8)

Or else you'll have to step up - lest you sully the name of the Honourable Brotherhood of Dodgy with your non-dodgyness.....

I'm sorry - there is no other way. You have to earn the right to call dodgy, and uphold it's traditions accordingly.

I don't think uncle, or anyone else for that matter, needs to have been to Logan to know it's dodgy, as long as you live in the SE Qld region you just know about Logan.

No hard feelings Tez, it's not me who lives there it's my mate.

As for North vs South ... damn Yankees!

It is nice to drive through Logan though, cause the cops understand why there is a tendency to speed in order to get out of the area quicker.

I live smack in the middle of Logan, Inala, Browns Plains, and Sunnybank.
So if I don't see a Commodore with cut springs, I'll see a Datsun 120Y that is held together by the rust particles holding hands, and if I don't see either, I'll see rice-burners with 20\" chromies and 20kg worth of stickers on the door.

I was actually hoping to see you raise the bar to an appropriate level of dodgy accompaniment for the day - not dull down the post.......

Where's your sense of adventure? Your eagerness to rise to the challenge????? 8)

Tsk Tsk Tsk - the HBOD will have to give careful consideration to your probationary dodginess I feel :D

LOL :D

I'm gonna jump bail on raising the dodgy bar re aforementioned \"dodgy accompaniment\", as I neither have the internal fortitude for super-hot chilli nor inebriation resistance. I don't drink at all

But I would certainly be hoping to appease the HBOD gods with the blood, sweat and tears I have shed, and will continue to shed, on hopping/blinging/hotting/doing-up our chariots.

Maybe I can be inducted into the HBOD fold by giving me the title of \"ye minstrel of the dutchy of zip-tie land\"

I take my eyes off the forum for a few hours and look what happens....

Unfortunately Saturdays do not work for me as I tend to baseball duties all day.....but the Gods of Dodgy will be smiling on your humble gathering from above.
