Because I live fairly central to the CBD I'm going to suggest a dodgy repair day at my place.
Setup a PDR guy in the carport and just line up the repair work. Should make it a fair bit cheaper for everyone if the guy doesn't have to travel and he has a few cars to work on?

That sounds like a winner! Set up a new thread when you're ready, could be good :D

My Mazda 3 copped about a dozen windscreen cracks, broken rear three quarter window on the driver's side, broken driver's side rear view mirror, broken rear tail light, and multiple hail dents. Waiting for insurance callback after filling the claim last night. Panel beaters are going to have plenty of work this Xmas.

Be thankful it wasn't Gina mate!

Unfortunately, in your case, it sounds like the car is basically undrivable.
Given many panel beaters will be winding down in the lead-up to the Xmas break I suspect most people would be better off lodging a claim but holding on to their cars (if it's only cosmetic) until sometime in the new year. Otherwise it could be a very long time until the work's actually completed.....

As for the suggestion of paintless dent removal, I thought this couldn't be done on aluminium panels. (ie. the bonnet and boot of an MX5).

Windscreens O'Brien is supposed to be coming tomorrow so I wont be able to attend this event.

ManiacLachy, if you can't get both jobs done tomorrow (intercooler and shocks), we can do the remaining job at my place Sunday or the following weekend.

Thanks Lokiel, I appreciate that, I'll let you know how we get on. Sorry you can't be there, it would have been good to see Gina rolling under her own power :P

Dodgy day is now closed, thanks everybody for the great day and company. Lily wants to now move out this way!

Coilovers done, boot buffed, front lip installed, NA6 started to be pulled apart.

Dodgy things... Broken screw in hard top clip (failed to fix), inter cooler (failed to get it done), the Andrew/mark NA6 project wins the dodgy award, photos to follow. We got the cowl out in once piece and then a case fell on it and broke it! 80 Amp main fuse (photos to follow), rear lower control arm bushes and the list goes on. However we did find over $2 under the seats :)

Thanks very much to Magpie and family, your hospitality is amazing and very appreciated.

Thanks to Pezchops, and slugdub for assisting Magpie and I with the coilovers and the rebuild. And I think it's corners who buffed my boot to polish it those scratches.

Also, those ribs! They were awesome!

Thank you all, I very much enjoyed my first dodgy day, looking forward to future ones.

I'm exhausted, can't wait to have a drink!

How did the coilovers go on the way home? Ride height ok? I have your coilover stickers and 17mm spanner.

Ribs, I second that comment!

A huge thanks to the hosts and everyone else that attended. What an excellent chilled day to talk MX-5's and have a few laughs. And a very special thanks to Lilley for stepping up and taking charge on BBQ duties. Wings were cooked beautifully :-).
