Dodgy Day. Saturday 7th May

Postby Steampunk » Sat Apr 16, 2016 12:40 pm

Howdy y'all, I reckon is time fora 'nuther git together.

For the uninitiated, Dodgy Day is when a bunch of people get together bringing parts and tools and pretend they know what they are doing.

It's held at Magpie's ranch over at Purga.

So if you have that tricky job to do that you've procrastinated on because you don't have the appropriate tools or equipment, this is the perfect time for you to have other people help you;... attempt to undo captive nuts that are permanently welded on, over-torque bolts until they snap, jack the car up and forget to place jack stands under it.

We start around 0830 and end around 1800

Send me a PM for address.

I'll be there :)

Will try and make some chicken wings with some more 'kick' this time.
Lokiel's dent puller (from last Dodgy day) is available to be used.
Corner Weighting - at least 2 spots available for the day.

Appreciated. If people from Sydney can't make it we will replicate your food :)

Anybody from out of state wanting to attend I'm sure we can find accommodation/transport.

If the recipe is based on Franks' Hot Sauce (as it was when Jules was hosting), then it don't hold no candle 'gainst Magpie's secret 'erbs'n'spices

Eh, it's half an hour down the road. I'm sure I can find some time to head down and stir up some already short tempers for my own entertainment. Might even take my otherwise untouched tools home with me first go this time!

I heard that Magpies' secret was to marinate the wings overnight in E85 with a dollop of Redline MTL Gear oil.

Yes the E85 adds the sweetness and the Redline makes them smooth.

Smoking a roast again Lokiel or more importantly is Gina allowed out for the day?

At this point I'd like to say I'll be attending but whether or not it's with Gina depends on when my TSE downpipe arrives.

I'm going to bring 2 smokers this time - should halve the cooking time.

Oohh, I should be able to make it to this one. Its in the calendar.

I'm keen to get some thoughts on my suspension set up if we have time - I need to raise it a bit for starters, but I want to have a look at the preload and damping settings as well.

Mentioned it to Pursuit170 (Richard) and he is very keen. "Sign us both up".

Make sure you bring the C Spanners for your coilovers just in case the ones I have don't fit. Height is pretty quick, you just need to decide on the height (will be a can of worm on the day on what height is the 'best'). Depending on what else is going on it can be thrown on the scales.

Steampunk is responsible for organising what cars need a shed bay or a 'grass' bay :)

Look forward to meeting you.

Will do. I was planning to aim for 949 racing's recommended height, but I'll make sure I measure that up properly before hand.

Look forward to meeting you too - I was at the last Automotive Plus garage sale but I only arrived a few moments before you left :P

As for chipping in for lunch, any recommendations on what to bring? (Open question)
