Aghhhhh.... Got home from work tonight and decided to give the car a once-over check... Good thing I did, both my front tyres have picked up screws

So I ended up changing wheels in the dark, and replaced the split-pins in the ball joints while I was at it, and lowered the front a bit. I even went and washed the car for the first time in about 6 months, AND I fitted the proper mirrors back on (couldnt be bothered taking the door trims off to plug them in though).

So yeah, thats all done, now I just need to charge the camera

What fun! 22c and sunshine - a perfect roof down day. Thanks so much to Spitty for planning a great day, the drive to Hindmarsh Island was terrific as was the restaurant & the company! Nice to finally meet Adam and Simon (ronin) & Spitty's wife Alison (hope I've spelled it right :? ) and great to have Diane (who I met at Mallala) and Allen from the SA MX-5 Club join us.

And we had a fun drive home through the back roads of the Adelaide Hills, fantastic!! And Simon, so sorry for probably holding you back, you were a gentleman to stay behind me  . And your NC is amazing - 2 1/2 years old and NO SWIRLS - and it's bleck too, very impressive!

Here are some pics:

I just ordered mine!!!!
Woooo Hooo!!!!
I reckon they look great!

Good thing I have a spare set of wheels at home, changed the bloody go-flat tyre for one of the ones with good tread, was a real dampener on an otherwise top day.

Yes it was great to meet everyone, and a beautiful day for a cruise!
Don't worry Gail, you weren't holding me up, the idiot in that big
4WD who wouldn't let me pass for 10 mins held me up
I'm thankful you slowed down for me or else I would've got
lost pretty badly! I almost missed that left turn....

I can't wait for Malalla on Tuesday :D

I'll try to make the next cruise too

noise

Postby Jaxom_2 » Sun May 04, 2008 11:34 pm

damn Vu, could it be associated with the smoke from your exhaust I saw under hard acceleration on the way to Goolwa?
Hope it's not too bad

so far the U.S miata.nutter forum suggests maybe it's broken valve springs or a rod/wrist pin knock. don't really what know what it's all about though..

i don't even know if it's safe to drive like that.. & i got some rented DVDs i need to return in half a week!

noise

ok, got a good mechanic close by who you trust that can check it out?
ya right, i got no cause to complain about the tyre,, puts it into the category of a minor inconvenience compared to the engine noise.

I can't remember who asked me if they could come to Malalla on Tuesday
with me on the John Bowe Advanced Track day.

Most of the guys in my car club have pulled out for various
reasons so there are more than a few spots available.
At the moment its just me and an RX8, and probably the Ford GT, WRX
Porsche and HSV clubs
Cost will be for whole day with small group (5)
instruction $425. If you have done a John Bowe course before then
it will be $385.
Car needs to be reasonably \"trackable\" to be safe. and you need a
helmet.
PM or email me ASAP if anyone is interested.

Sounds like you all had fun... 8)

Gail that shirt is the old style so grab one if you can find it....Luv mine seeing that i won it..

The new style has blue stripes that go around the cuff of the sleeve..

It's not as nice as the old style in my opinion.. 8)
