[SA] - Dodgy Day?

Postby SuperMazdaKart » Tue Jun 24, 2008 9:28 pm

is there much interest for an SA dodgy day?

do many of us have things that are waiting to be done on their MX-5s? not too handy with a spanner in hand & want someone to watch over your shoulder?

few ideas could be like minor servicing of oil change/sparkplugs, fitting of oil filter relocation kits, fitting of bookshelf spoilers, putting in blasted aluminium radiators, blingtake air intakes, new blinker fluid? etc

with a lunch break.

lets hear some ideas peoples.

NB8B? Could be when the SVT kicks in, some turbo systems seem to have missing troubles when that happens...

Caffeine, mine is a NA6...

Vu, oh... I'm still keen to assist others with my knowledge as long as it is before July 19th as I'll be departing for NSW that day!

anyone happen to have a large enough place to do work on cars? plus some parking for others.

a garage/driveway pit to get underneathe the car would be handy too.

...and a dyno machine too of course.

Well I don't know much about working on cars but always interested to learn! I can cook though so would be happy to bring along some vittles/sustance or man (woman?) the BBQ or wipe brows!!

Definitely NOT free on 12 July though...

Bark - you can't move to NSW, you haven't been on a drive with us yet!!

Oh if only the budget would run to it at the moment! And spitty did already offer a loaner. *sigh* one day. What I WOULD like to get and install is one of those chrome gas caps!! Oh yes, maybe I could dodgy that!! :D

a dyno day would have to be another time. requires a fair few cars attending to make it worthwhile. probably won't get enough numbers without inviting other car forums to come along (unless the whole MX-5 Club SA decide to turn up?).

Have you tried changing or putting in new spark plugs and leads?
Quite alot of weird engine behaviour can be attributable to them being faulty/worn-out etc

dodgy day

Postby Jaxom_2 » Wed Jun 25, 2008 7:04 pm

Gail, I happen to have a \"spare\", still in the box, brand new chrome filler lid, MX5MANIA sent two (and billed me for 2) when I ordered mine. I also have 2 wheels you can use when you get your rims sorted out. I need to have the gutter rash fixed on two rims as well.

I am unsure if I will be able to get to many dodgy days due to shift work, but given enough notice I should be able to swap.

Mike
