25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MAZDA MX5 -
MONDAY 6TH OCTOBER 2014 BIRDWOOD MUSEUM

The Mazda MX-5 was first released in Australia in October 1989 (check out the history). To commemorate the occasion the MX-5 Club of South Australia is staging a 25th Anniversary event in partnership with the National Motor Museum, Birdwood in South Australia on Monday 6th of October (Labour Day) from 11am until 3pm.

Our aim to get as many MX-5s as possible on the lawn at the Motor Museum. So if you own or drive and MX-5, regardless of its condition – old or new, we want you to join in the event. And if if has some truly unique features even better. We aim to make this the largest gathering of MX-5s ever in South Australia!

The idea is a meet and greet not only for MX-5 owners but for anyone interested in motoring, motor sport or in discovering the social enjoyment of being part of a Club – particularly our Club.

Mazda Australia sent Ben Sale (from the Victorian MX-5 Club) to Monterey in California as the Australian representative for the world-wide unveiling of the next generation MX-5 (ND model), on Thursday 4th of September. Ben had the opportunity not only to go over the car with a fine tooth comb; here are some of his images. We are aiming to get Ben over to Motor Museum on the 6th of October, and share experience and impressions with anyone and everyone with an interest in the new model.

For those willing to join in our display with their MX-5s, the Motor Museum has offered a special entry deal: $12 entry per MX-5 (which includes driver and passenger): cash only at the gate. And you have access to the entire Motor Museum. You won’t get a better deal! There will also be food, drink (at own cost) and music around the exhibition site so bring your chairs and picnic accessories along and enjoy the occasion in the Spring sunshine.

For those driving MX-5s and planning to join in the display, entry will be via the Church street gate (see map). However, PLEASE complete this entry form to help us plan the layout of the display.

For the general public, standard Motor Museum entry and parking arrangements will apply.
