I’ve posted up the updated records following the Supersprint on Sunday. Yesterday’s Club records will wait until the final times are released.

Records from Sunday went to Bryan in the stock 10AE with a 1:13.883. Stuart matched Luke’s stock NC time of 1:13.64 but Luke beat this yesterday by 0.3 seconds (to be confirmed). I managed to shave half a second off my best with a 1:09.162. :D

Other records fell yesterday and will be posted later. Let me know if you think you have a record and I missed it.

Of special note and a lot of credit must go to Luke, who I lent my car to for a run at yesterday’s club meet. He managed to get within 0.1 second of my best. Fantastic drive from a very talented young man in a car he hadn’t dríven before.

Well done Phil. Thanks for updating the records.

Go on ... tell everyone what time you did in Joe's stock NC that Luke set those records with.

Results from the Club day on Monday 8 September are now up.

New records were posted by the same bunch of drivers who previously held records except in the stock NB8A Clubman Class where Bryan cut 0.05 of a second off Ian Vickers record set back in July 2012.

Records went to:
Luke in the stock NC, down 0.25 seconds,
Bryan as mention above,
Gus in the NB8B Clubman Class down 0.2 seconds,
Phil M modified NA8A down 0.51 seconds,
Verne turbo NB8A down 0.8 seconds,
Cameron modified SE down 0.88 seconds,
Yours truly modified NC down a whopping 0.03 seconds,
and Todd Nissan powered NA down 1.47 seconds to post a 1:05.68 lap  and be FTD.

Full results can be found here: http://nsw.mx5.com.au/files/dmfile/F1409081.pdf

According to the results I managed a 1:14.94 :D I didn't managed the rolly-polly suspension to well, but then I did bring it back in one piece.

Oops
I beleive a lot of Ian Combes times at the end of the day are actually myself and Michael from Deckspeed as I was given 2 goes in the car and Michael had 1 himself as well.
Don't want to stuff up other peoples points in the point score for the year.

Looking at run 6.
I am sure Michael has the first 5 times.
Ian is the next 5.
Then I am the final 6.

Then for Run 7.
Ian is the first 5.
I am the last 6.

That would leave Ian with his fast time actually being in run 3 with a 1'14.65. This would put him from 4th to 5th in class 9. Sorry Ian :).

Bryan should this information be passed on to someone???

I've already mentioned it to Rod and Mike who are looking into it.

Guys, if you want any chance of swapping cars at future track days, you will need to make sure you modify the door numbers and advise the clerk of course and timekeepers before heading out.

Also from the Sunday, I think you might have to update the Type 2A record to:

Scott McGarry 1.12.492

Well the results are in for the Club event on Sunday 7 December. Track conditions didn’t provide any new records. Let me know if I’m wrong.

The day started with standing water and dirt and dust across the track at the most inappropriate places and it took a few sessions to sweep the surface clean on the racing line, by which time the temperature had reached the high 20’s. A few weeks of storms had also cleared the track of any residual rubber and at the end of the day for the first time I had no build-up of track rubber on my tyres or on the insides of my rims.

Most drivers were a second to a second and a half off their previous best times, though there were a few exceptions.

Matilda put in a great time on slicks of 1:05.57 in her (Nick’s) turbo NB8B SP replica, falling just 0.07 seconds short of Brian Anderson’s long standing record for Club days. Matilda has been quicker but not at a Club event.

The new lap records from the Club event on Sunday are now shown on the first page.

There were some notable records from this event.

First up Keith Monaghan smashed his previous PB by around a second to take the record held by Glenn Thomas for the last three years to record a time in his standard NB8B of 1:15.50. Keith to prove it wasn’t a fluke also put in another 2 laps in the 15’s.

Next Luke Kovacic. Without doubt Luke is THE stand out driver in the Club, taking his father’s standard NC around the track in a 1:12.99. No-one, not even the professional drivers have gone close to this time. On the second run of the day Luke’s times were 1:13.33, 1:13.08, 1:13.14, 1:13.08, 1:13.20, & 1:12.99. Fantastic constancy.

Then we had Cameron in his highly modified SE taking over half a second off his previous record and Russ in his supercharged NC striving to break into the 1:08s but just falling short but with a highly creditable 1:09.10.

Last but not least was Todd in his Nissan turbo powered NA taking out a FTD and record with a 1:05.03.

Good one Phil.

I thought Todd sold his SR20 powered MX5 so may just need to confirm if it was that car or his new one. Well done to all who improved on the previous times. I am tempted to give Luke a drive of my car to see how quick it can go around Wakefield but I am also afraid of finding out just how slow I am driving it myself.

Wow some quick times last weekend !!

Just a question.
It seems the club records in some areas do not reflect the class system the club uses?
Maybe it's just me??

I run in class 5, which is modified 1.6 upto 85rwkws.

Yet there appears to not be a record for this class?
The closest is 2A supersprints ruling, which does not have that power limitaion plus the supersprint class 2 has a wheel width restriction of 1 extra inch.

Maybe im looking at this all wrong?? :)

Yes I have sold my sr20 mx5, it was all Mazda! And made the old car feel slow. I'm so happy with it can't wait to have another go :D
