These are great shots Cam! Love the 70-200 2.8 and upping the clarity makes the cars pop. Thanks for coming out and taking them. Hope you can get yourself an engine sometime soon.

I was looking to come down for a round at SMSP in September, just wondering if it is a one or two day event, practice and amount of races? (coming from Brisbane)

SMSP rounds are usually a single day, practice and 3 races on the GP circuit.

To make it more worthwhile you might consider doing what I am intending to do.
That is:
Since Terry Denovan is now running FOSC and MRA, he has a FOSC meeting on the Saturday at SMSP North Circuit and the MRA meeting on the Sunday on the GP circuit.
I intend to enter the historic and invited touring cars on Saturday (yes Terry has confirmed MX-5s are invited) and the MX-5 Cup + Super TT on Sunday.
This gives me practice and 3 races on Saturday + 2 x practice and 2 x 3 races on Sunday.
Terry gives a discount on entry fees to those who enter more than one class.

Thanks Nuddy, I tired looking for extra sessions either side but had no idea.

That is perfect, I will try to get organised.

Seems like it would be some decent track time there.

That looks like a a dream weekend!
My experience so fas is limited to a Half-Day tuition at Wakefield Park on their Back MX-5 NB(1:14.1) and today my first club track day at Sydney South Circuit(~1:16.3) driving my a 2003 MX-5 that I bought last month.
I look forward to more seat time in 2019 to improve my skills. Will compile all the calendars that I can get my hands on.
Quick question: Since I can't have and instructor on the passenger seat all the time to show me the ideal lines and where I can improve, what kind of logging/camera systems could I look at to help me improve my driving?
Thanks

There is a datalogging thread here, read my post about halfway down this page datalogging thread

You might be able to tap into your ECU via the OBD port, but the essential 'driving tuition data' will come directly from the GPS and accelerometers of something like the AIM Solo and its many equivalents, some of which are mentioned in that thread.

You would be best to start off with some club track days, and combine them with some tuition from one of the track schools at SMP or Wakefield. Get good tuition, and don't form bad habits that have to be fixed later. The AIM Solos and the like do not tell you what you are doing right or wrong, so they are no substitute for tuition. When you have a handle on the basics, they will help you try different things and give you quick results to work on.
