Postby Magpie » Mon Jul 11, 2016 11:34 am

SDT are again hosting a Sports Driver Training day at Morgan Park on 10/08/16 (Ekka Holiday).

Cost is $220 for MX5 Car Club members. At this stage it will be a one long session program (not a morning and afternoon intake) 8am gates open, 9am track laps begin through till 3.30 pm with gates closing at 4pm.

The application form has not been updated to reflect the single session format. If you have any question get in contact with SDT and discuss.

I'm already booked in for this one - so keen!!! :NB8B:

It's not on a work day, heaps of track time and you get in car tuition! The small amount of extra cost over a standard track day does not begin to cover the added value.

But then again... If you don't come I get more track time, so.... 8)

Enjoy your day Gents. Looks like you should get perfect conditions.

I was planning/expecting to be there but unfortunately a 'budget deficit' meant I couldn't get my application in until last week; and it was already fully booked

Was lucky to get my late booking in successfully back in March (which surprised me then as the Porsche day was the day before), but lesson learnt for the next one.
22 October falls nicely between the last two club track days.

Make sure you rub it in later with a full days report.

Was a great day, shame only 2 MX5's and no 86's...

Ran Layouts B, D, E and F. F is well suited to a MX5, however suits an Excel even better!

Layout F

Did not improve on my previous time of 1:15.04, but managed a 1:15.17. Data shows that from Siberia to the finish I picked up almost 0.5 secs on my PB lap, I blew it at T2.

This was chasing down the Excel car SDT was setting up, it also shows that I need to tighten the 2 smaller splitter turnbuckles. The camera is located in the mouth of the car so gives an interesting perspective.

Funny event of the day, crow flew into the under cover area, took a pack of Cheese and Onion chips from out of a plastic bag (ignored Jaye's open cheezels) flew away and proceeded to eat them :)

The Cheese and Onion Chip thief and side kick...
