NA8 02 Sensor = Recommendation

My MX has completed 160,000 K's and it is recommended the 02 sensor be replaced.

Other than the obvious Mazda replacement are there any other brands that would substitute and not require rewiring.
Nothing fancy as I only drive my MX for enjoyment and it is bog standard.

I read an article years ago on using a larger RX7 O2 sensor (google mania intake on site:autospeed.com) if that helps. So still mazda brand but may mean you have more options.

Hope this helps.

Pretty much everything else means you mean need to join the new wires to the old connector plug. Four wire sensor with 18 watt heater and
ground isolated case is what's required for an NA8.
The Bosch Universal 4 wire sensor 0 258 986 505 works. It comes with an adaptor plug that takes 20 minutes of fiddling to splice in. Check prices through Repco etc.

Just a question. Is the Bosch 0 258 986 505 a direct screw into the exhaust or does it require an adaptor (or is the adaptor you mentioned to do with the wiring).

It's a direct swap at the sensor end. The adaptor is purely for the wiring.
