rotrex injector setup NA

Postby trader » Mon Mar 02, 2015 3:00 pm

I have a rotrex intercooled kit running 305 supra injectors. Runs fine (but rich) with stock computer. Next part of the project is to install MS DIYPNP. I have a set of larger RX8 injectors also. My question is would it be of any advantage to run these instead of the supras on a street car bearing in mind it will only be around 7 psi.

I believe that responses to similar questions suggest that injectors for rotary engines have a different spray pattern and are therefore not recommended for a MX-5 engine.

Edit. Having said that there are a MX5/Miata drivers that are using RX-8 injectors, and successfully from what I read.

I'm using the rx8 ones with no issues. They're just standard denso units so were plug and play and probably have a better spray pattern to the supra ones as they're much newer.

Mate of mine has an NA8 with a rotrex on it, up to 10psi. Absolutely stock otherwise - stock injectors, fuel pump etc. Piggy back Xede ecu to control the 5th injector, and 2 switchable ignition maps. Been running 3 years + with no issues at all. 139Kw at the wheels. Runs VERY rich when he stand on the throttle.
