A quick list of modifications, current power produced and an under bonnet shot.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

No bites? I'll start then:

Previous car:

1989 MX-5 1600
Jackson Racing M45 supercharger
MegaSquirt PNP
330cc injectors
Jackson Racing 10psi pulley

Not sure about power as the clutch couldn't hold it all!

Current car:

2004 MX-5 SE
Cooling Pro intercooler

New intercooler:

Okibi (Dave),
I think having this section is invaluable as many MX5s are either turbo or supercharged using aftermarket/custom kits or are Mazda Motorsports/factory built SP/SEs. Hopefully this section starts pooling together a wealth of information specific for Australian MX5 owners.

As for the thread topic, I am sure people here are sick of this car already so this will be the final time I post the old girl's "stats" and "under skirt" pics

Engine modifications - copy & pasted from garage as I am lazy
B6T bottom end, HKS adj cam gear, AVO manifold, HKS GT2535 turbo, custom intercooler & piping, 550cc injectors, Bosch 044 fuel pump, custom surge tank, Malpassi fuel regulator & gauge, braided hoses, fuel & oil lines, polished intake plenum & modified cam cover, Blitz BOV, Autronics SMC, custom 2.5" straight through exhaust & droopy tip, Top Gun leads, NGK plugs, Cusco oil catch tank, GReddy Air Diversion Plate, oil & radiator caps & a custom radiator core.

Current power
On daily fuel map running 1 bar/15psi boost will be 175 rwkw or 235 rwhp (from memory).
At the track, switching to a different fuel map running 1.4 bar or 20psi boost gets 229rwkw or 307 rwhp.
All this from that little 1.6 litre
All dyno runs were on a Dyno Dynamics in Shoot Out Mode.

Under bonnet shot - apologies about the condition, I have not had time to clean my engine in almost a year now
Image

Engine was put together in 1999-2000 and apart from regular oil changes, has done close to 20,000kms over the last 8 years without skipping a beat

But I have a brand new factory floor BP head and block on the engine stand that I will building very soon

Although I don't have an MX-5 currently, spose I'll still post some details as the info might come in handy to others, maybe for a engine swap or the like.

Running about 8 pounds boost (although peaks at 10 on highway under load) and somewhere in the order of 120rwkw. According to Jules' buttdyno and driving experience when I lent it to him last year it gave the SPs a good run for their money :D

Here is my "old" car, engine bay pic is terrible, but there was nothing particularly aethestic about the engine bay anyhow, built it to drive it rather than to show off how shiney my turbo was... Pic shows the new manifold with external gate etc sitting in the bay too. Ended up selling the car with the AVO set-up.

B6T bottom end, MX5 head, sump etc, standard spec Mazda headgasket.
Braided Oil feedline by Link hose.
AVO manifold, Garret GT series turbo.
Tyger built ceramic coated dump, mid and rear exhaust (:P)
AVO intercooler pipes & frontmount intercooler (painted black for stealth)
440cc injectors, walbro pump, home made dual feed rail (ended up swapping back to stock rail and 370cc injectors.
Internally "cleaned" head - Not ported, just removed casting marks etc. Matched to intake manifold.
Microtech LT series ECU
Bigger ADRAD radiator
NGK "V" plugs

Will dig up the dyno sheet, but made approx 280hp on high boost on pump fuel, 240ish on lower boost with small injectors etc.

Ran a high 12sec quarter on street tyres and open diff

Hey Bark,
See here for Terry's dyno sheet and engine pic.

Terry is running the same kit as you and similiar bottom end.
At less boost (15psi/1bar), he got 173 rwkw on a Dyno Dynamics in Shoot Out Mode.

What type of dyno and other details do you have for the run?
Were you in 4th gear (1:1 ratio on the 5 speed g/box)?
Do you have the factory fuel pump or something better?
Were the Familia injectors close to full duty cycle?
What is the 'dump' pipe and exhaust diameter?

Hope you are not feeling interrogated
I was just trying to find out where the difference went 8)

Here is my old setup.
Car is a 1994 Clubman.
Stock 1.8 motor
320HP T28 Turbo on AVO manifold
front mount
Kevlar heavy duty clutch
RC 370cc injectors
Custom Piping
EMS dual sport computer with handset
Oil catch can
Aluminium radiator by Mr.Enforcer
2.5" stainless steel Exhaust
Fidanza Aluminium Flywheel
High Volume fuel pump
165 RWKW on 15psi
Ran a 12.9 1/4 on crappy street tyres
New setup should make more power and heaps more torque.

RobH,
Yeah mate, that is my engine, I just didn't own the car at that time so the previous owner was keeping it clean.
Clean motors don't go faster, anyway it wasn't really dirty, it just wasn't shiny like yours.
