Postby Foot_Long90 » Sat Mar 07, 2015 5:57 pm

Hey guys I have an nc with an aftermarket exhaust system with a uni chip. What other ways can I increase performance with out supercharging the engine?

Beware the diminishing returns per $ you'll get by adding several small things and bear in mind some small things will conflict with or just not add to others.

Bang for buck, talk to NitroDann or someone similar (if such a person exists?) about adding a turbo and everything else needed and give him the whole job so one person takes responsibility for the whole job. Don't give it to several different people who'll blame each other if things go wrong. If you don't have the funds to give the whole job in one go to one person, either do nothing or raise funds by selling a kidney/family member/family jewels etc.

Just my 2c worth based on my experiences.

Firstly, how much more performance do you want and how will the car be used. Daily, track, both?

Mainly daily driving. I enjoy the drive that the mx5 offers it's awesome but I just want a little bit more power not a crap load. Not now anyways. Maybe down the track a bit. For the people that have given a proper reply to help I thank you for your genorisity and time. As for the headers I have put performance headers on, as for the diff that is something that interests me. What brand is recommended so I may find one?

A 2.5L swap would be perfect for you I think, more power with the reliability you need as a daily driver.

True I will be needing to save up a bit first because everything else that I've had done has bled me dry for the moment haha. But other than that maybe another $2500 for now. That 2.5litre swap sounds interesting.

The way I ask customers what level or performance they want is by asking what model of car they'd like to be able to chase down in a straight line.

So, What model of car would you like to be able to chase down?

Dann if I could chase down an S2K that's what I'm after at the moment. After a year or 2 I will want to leave it for dead.
