NA6 turbo oil feed location?

Postby speed » Mon Dec 26, 2016 8:33 am

Should I go for option A?
This is where the MCM guys and other youtubers ran theirs from.

Or option B?
I could be wrong but I think this is where Dann runs his from?

Is this correct and is there any benefit of using one over the other?

Thanks.

Dann ran it from option A on my car. I think it's a case of 'If you've got it, use it.'

I use back of the head because I find it easiest to work on this way.

Dann

I'm guessing less oil spillage, if any.
Will have to see if I can get my hex bit in there :)

Is it possible to remove the sump whilst the engine is still bolted to the mounts?
(The car is already on a hoist.)

I ask as I have another sump with the turbo drain already fitted.

Also if I drill and tap my current sump, I'm going to need to go buy the stepped drill bit and a tap.

I just watched a video on the sump replacement.

K frame out.

I thought I'd be able to lift the motor with a crane and have enough room to drop the pan.
Sounds like a real PITA.

Am going to go out and buy a drill bit and tap and just drill the bugger :D
