SE Engine bay

Postby MrBrad » Wed Apr 01, 2020 2:50 pm

Hey Guys,

does anyone have any kind of manual that has instructions on how you take apart and put together the original airbox intake setup on an NB SE?

I have a haynes manual but it doesn't have the SE and to be honest, isn't as good as what I remember Haynes manuals to be!

Cheers
Brad

I pulled mine apart a few years back when I required access to the Turbo to install a boost controller.
There is really not much to it.
Its just Bolts, clamps, pipes and plastic junk.

As far as I remember.
Unplug intake temp sensor and MAF connector and unclip cabling from the air box. Remove vacuum pipe from air box to turbo pipe, remove air box to turbo pipe, remove top lid off the airbox, take out air filter, unbolt lower parts of air box, pull it out and your pretty much done.
DO the opposite to put it back together.

If you are also talking about removing the lower part of the intake pipe/coupler to the turbo and the outlet side, its just more clamps and pipes to pull out.
I heard a lot of people say it was super difficult to pull those rubber couplings out without breaking them, but I got mine off very easily a few years ago when I needed access to the manifold bolts as mine started loosening after many years of track work.

It's OK, that's my link, as long as I'm alive they will stay available. :-)
