I just put a straight edge across the top of the cam covers between #2 and #3 cylinders on my car: NA8 manifold on NB8A head. The top of the NA8 manifold's plenum chamber sits 7mm below the tops of the cam covers. The projections over the plenum chamber to hold the brake vacuum and PCV valve pipes sit flush with the tops of the cam covers. The highest point of the throttle body assembly is 11mm below the top of the cam covers.

Thanks once again for sharing this info this is just what I'm chasing.
I'm now am on the hunt for a NA8 manifold

Anyone got one lying around? :D
